Marion Akins

December 21, 1936December 31, 2013

Marion F. Akins, of Harrison, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013. She was a member of Brittsville Baptist Church and enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Mae Norwood, son, Robert Catchings and brother, James Norwood. Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Glenn L. Akins, of Harrison, TN, four children, Pat Ritch, of Murfreesboro, TN, James (Carolyn) Catchings, of Harrison, TN, Donna (Michael) McDowell, of Chattanooga, TN, David (Gay) Catchings, of Harrison, TN, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, brother, Thomas Norwood, of Eolia, MO, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, January 3, 2014, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Purdie and Pastor Gurney Beard officiating. The burial will follow in Holder Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
