Mason Tyler Lewis

Mason Tyler Lewis, age 16, of Ooltewah died Friday evening as the result of an automobile accident. He was born July 2, 1995 in Chattanooga the son of J.J. and Lydia Lewis. Mason was preceded in death by a brother Michael Newby and a grandfather James T. Newby, Sr.

Mason entered 10th grade at Ooltewah High School this fall where he played football and he was a member of the Regional Champion Football team as a freshman.

He was a member of Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents J. J. and Lydia Lewis; brothers Christian Lewis, Dylan Newby and Tyler McNew ; sister Peyton Newby; grandparents Ellen A. Newby, John and Shirley Lewis; aunts and uncles James T. Newby, Jr., Sheila A Newby, Teresa Faye Grant and Theodore Lebron Lewis; sister-in-law Megan Vaughan and several cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 4-8 and Wednesday from 12:30 - 6 at Savannah Bay Baptist Church 8018 Ooltewah Georgetown Rd.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm in the Savannah Bay Baptist Church.
