

She was born on May 6, 1918 in Charleston, Tennessee, to the late Ed and Viola Harris. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William “Ben” Roy, second husband, Rev. Thom Guinn, two brothers and a sister.
Mildred was a stay at home mother for years and later became a realtor after the death of her husband, Ben.
She was from a pioneer family in Charleston, Tennessee and was a member of the Charleston Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was currently a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three children, Joan (Don) Walker, of Ooltewah, TN, Kenneth (Carol) Roy, of East Brainerd, TN, Elaine (Jim) Rice, of McDonald, TN, six grandchildren, Sharon (Scott) Wilhoite, Angela (Donnie) Shaw, Lisa Hourigan, Renee (Bob) Periut, Bill (Rhonda) Rice, Melanie (Terry) Moss, ten great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2016, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cleveland, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2016, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Charleston Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8267 North Lee Highway, Charleston, TN 37310 for the upkeep and restoration on the original historical Charleston Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
