Myrtle “Sally” Eaton, 82, of Ooltewah, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 at her residence. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was a member of City Church and was the wife of the late, H.E. “Woody” Eaton. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Vassie Smith and a brother, Hurbert McCullough “Mac” Smith. Survivors include her daughter, Myra Eaton Hawes and husband Steve, Acworth, GA; two sons, David Eaton and wife Debbie, Chattanooga and Barry Eaton, Ooltewah; three grandchildren, Eric Hawes, Samuel Eaton and Matthew Bradley Eaton and wife Samantha; two great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Smith, Rossville, GA; sister, Gloria Nell Riddle, Hixson, TN; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Mike Chapman officiating. Interment will be in the Chattanooga Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
