Oksana Potozka

Oksana Potozka departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 21, 2026. She was born in Berezhany, Ukraine on January 10, 1961 to Ivan and Anastasia. She spoke with fondness about her upbringing, always calling herself "Daddy's girl." She was baptized at the age of 16, with the baptism performed at night because the Soviet Union persecuted Christians during that

time. In 1982, she married and the birth of Lily, Rostis and Arthur followed. In 1989, her family immigrated to Syracuse, New York, as refugees, where Rosa and Nikolay Jr were born. The family lived there until they moved to Chattanooga in 1997.

If one thing could describe Oksana, it was her heart for people. If she saw that someone had a need and she could help, she did. She didn't examine their life to see if they were deserving of help, she just helped. She didn't look to see if you were clean and put together, she just helped. She truly met people where they were

and loved selflessly. She had a true servant heart that exemplified Christ. No matter what her circumstances were in life, she always had a smile on her face. She loved her family more than anything and loved to spoil her grandchildren. Every visit came with a gift from Nana.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her daughter, Lily (Andrey) Avgustovskiy, Rostis (Yuliya) Timoshchuk, Arthur (Alla) Timoshchuk, Rosa (Mark) Shchukin, and Nikolay (Macy) Timoshchuk Jr as well as 14 grandchildren that she loved dearly. She is also survived by her 6 siblings.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Monday, September 28th at 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga TN 37421, the Chattanooga Funeral Home – Valley View Chapel. Friends and family are welcome before service from 9-11 am for visitation hours. A private burial will be held at a later date.

To honor Oksana’s personality, the family asks you to please wear light or bright colors to the service.

that you help someone in need or donate to a charity of your choice.
