He was the son of the late Bob and Pearl Buchanan.
Raymond was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from Astec Industries after 21 years of service.
He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school class for many years.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Hazel M. Buchanan, of Ooltewah, TN, five siblings, Joe and Polly Buchanan, of Crossville, TN, Bill and Barbara Buchanan, of Tazewell, TN, Bonnie and Gilbert Wicker, of Decatur, TN, Ralph and Carolyn Buchanan, of Athens, TN, Roy and Judy Buchanan, of Decatur, TN, and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday at the Chattanooga Memorial Park with Rev. Richard Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home.
