He was preceded in death by his parents, Margarite and John Waymon Black; and son, Roger Waymon Black.
Doug retired from Hawker Battery in 2000 due to a stroke. He enjoyed and loved all genres of music from classical to pop. He loved books and read hundreds, and was a computer whiz. Doug was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Sally Black; son, Douglas Scott (Sheila) Black; two granddaughters, Skylar and Seanna; and sister, Brenda (Pete) Bryson.
Visitation will be Monday, February 25th from 4 to 8 PM and Tuesday from 12 to 1 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, February 26th at the funeral home with Rev. William Coats and Rev. Bill Bond officiating.
Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
