With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ronnie L. Brady on November 5, 2023. Born on August 11, 1942, to the late Lennie Mae and Troy Brady, Ronnie was a cherished brother to the late Marion Brady, Marjorie Dannis, Dorothy Ann Roland, Bobby Jack Brady, Troy Odell Brady, and is survived by his loving sister Merle Herring.
A patriot at heart, Ronnie honorably served his country for seven years, transitioning from the Army to the Air Force with unwavering dedication. He found his soulmate in Mary Nell Jones, and they were united in matrimony on May 23, 1966. Their journey together took them from Charleston, SC, to Columbia, TN, with stints in North Carolina, before settling in Chattanooga, TN, in 1991.
Ronnie’s career with the Tennessee Valley Authority was marked by his expertise in industrial equipment sales, a testament to his hardworking ethos complemented by a quick wit and an infectious sense of humor. His adventurous spirit shone through his love for fast cars, automobile racing, hunting, amusement parks, and an enduring passion for travel. Ronnie and Mary’s love for exploration led them to every corner of the United States, particularly the National Parks, often accompanied by their beloved dogs.
Leaving behind a legacy of laughter and adventure, Ronnie will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews: David Hinton (Angela) and children Lakin and Halle; Larry Don Jones (Rhonda) and children Meredith, Garrett, and Allison; Charlotte Christian (Robert) and son Clayton; Chrystal Sumrall (David) and son Charlie; Joey Brady (Harriet) and children Troy and Jay Larkin; and Mike, Marlene, Jennifer, and Phylis Brady.
A graduate of Bay Springs High School, Ronnie’s life story is one of dedication, service, and joy. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance at Valley View Chapel, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN, on November 8, 2023, from 11:00 AM for a reception, with a service to honor his memory at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Lee Cemetery in McDonald, TN.
In keeping with Ronnie’s generous spirit, donations in lieu of traditional remembrances to St. Jude’s Research Hospital would be a fitting tribute to a life well-lived and a man greatly loved.
Ronnie’s departure leaves a void in the tapestry of many lives, but his vibrant stories, heartfelt service, and the echoes of his laughter will forever remain.
