Sarah Lizabeth Pyburn
December 7, 1945 – October 10, 2020
Sarah Lizabeth Pyburn, 74, of Chattanooga, ran longingly into the arms of her Lord and Savior on the evening of October 10, 2020. She had been looking forward to this moment for most of her adult life. A passionate member of the East Brainerd Church of God, she was the church clerk for many decades. She was a mighty prayer warrior who stormed the gates of heaven on behalf of so many.
Those who surely greeted her there were all six of her siblings, three of whom ran ahead just in the past year. Her parents, Paul and Thelma McKee led the way.
Left behind to cherish her legacy are her husband, Charles Pyburn and two sons, Chuck and Andy Pyburn, as well as several nieces and nephews.
All Covid mandates will be in place at the funeral home and cemetery, such as wearing a mask and social distancing.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:30 pm Monday at the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Gary Swaggerty and the Rev. Greg Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
If you are unable to attend, the service may be viewed on our Facebook page at: Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, Valley View Chapel.

She was a delight to be around. I feel like her house was a second home while I was finishing high school and then just starting out in life.
One of my favorites (there are so many!) Andy and I were decorating the Christmas tree while she was gone. Her chair faced one side of the tree. We put up ornaments and realized she had a ton of Santas..so we got the idea to decorate her side with nothing but Santas. She came in and complimented us on the tree. She thought it was so pretty! Till she sat down!! She just dipped her head slightly, pursed her lips into a small smile and looked up at us and shook her head. "Yall are nuts!" she said and laughed. That's not the funniest one or the wildest one but it's one I keep thinking of this week. She was one of a kind and definitely going to be missed! Love you momma Liz!
