Shirley K Cantrell

Mrs. Shirley K. Cantrell, 93, a resident of Harrison, Tennessee, left her earthly body and into the arms of Jesus on March 27, 2016. She was born on July 10, 1922 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Claude an Elsie Koonce. She was a longtime faithful member of Bayside Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, baking, and traveling.

She was kind, giving, and could always make you laugh. One of her great joys was animals. She was known to everyone as “Grandmomma” and loved them all as her own. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.G. Cantrell, her daughter, Claudia C. Tatum, and son, George H.Cantrell.

Survivors include her daughter, Laraine (David) Percy; grandchildren, Dean (Lori) Tatum, Kim(Robert) Jenkins, David(Karen) Myrick, Sean(Tammy) Cantrell, Brannon Cantrell, Chrissy(Raul) Rogiers, Dr. David (Kate) Percy, Hannah(Chuck) Percy, and Sarah Percy; great grandchildren, Richie, Matthew, Jet, Ab, Alicia, Evan, Sean, Josh, Dustin, Chelsea, Maegan, Joshua, Noah, Brooklyn, and Cruz; great great grandchildren, Hunter, Natalia, Rylan, Jace, Gavin, and Fallyn.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for the excellent care given to grandmomma.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Youth of Bayside Baptist Church

The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, March 30th at Bayside Baptist Church Youth Center, 6100 Hwy 58, Harrison, TN. Celebration services will follow at 6:00 PM with Pastors Eric Stitts and Grady Cooper officiating. Interment will be in Hillview Cemetery in LaGrange, GA at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 31st. Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home-Valley View Chapel.
