She was born in Westmoreland, TN to the late Harold and Frances Dorris. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Leland Rockholt.
Shirley was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church and taught the Bible Searchers Sunday school class for many years. She lived her life serving the Lord, praying for others and telling them about God's love.
Shirley lit up a room wherever she went. She was an accomplished watercolor artist and also did lettering on Coca-Cola signs for many years. She was equally known for her expert gardening skills. She always set a good example for her family and friends and brought happiness to many people. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her son, Scott (Amanda) Rockholt; grandchildren, Graci Mae, Jake and Shelby Rockholt; sister, Connie (Paul) Gloyer and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Greenwood Baptist Church, 8529 Snow Hill Road, Ooltewah, Tennessee 37363.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church with Pastor Chad Chandler officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Jake Rockholt, Glen Reagan, Gary Rockholt, Jeff Miller, Charlie Creasy and Chad Eslinger serving as pallbearers and Steve Eslinger, Parker Randolph and Eddie Robinson serving as honorary pallbearers.
