

He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Forrester; mother, Mary Lou Smith; stepfather, Lethal Smith; son, Edward Thomas Forrester Vili; brothers, Jimmy Forrester and Donnie Forrester; sister, Carol Forrester Barbee.
Tommy leaves behind a loving family including his sisters, Lavada White and Anna Baxter; brother, Steven Forrester; daughters; Jessie (Randy) Jumper, Sherry (John) Shagena; grandchildren, Jon( Ashley) Vili, Rebecca (Brandon) Sluder, Linda Vili Dixon, Dakota (Katie) Shagena, John Luke (Jamie) Shagena, Sara (Josh) Leming, and Mark Harvey; great grandchildren, Baby Edward Thomas Vili, Cindy Vili, Alaina Vili, Jaden Sluder, Roman Sluder, Marilyn Sluder, Avery Dixon, and Luka Sluder; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Tommy loved fishing, hunting, roofing and spending time with family and friends. He loved watching Gunsmoke and working on cars with his grandsons. Tommy was a proud Vietnam Veteran and loved serving his country in the Army. He valiantly earned his Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army after having served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm on Thursday May 8, 2025, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. 7414 Old Lee Hwy.
A funeral procession will then travel to Ooltewah Cemetery for a 2:30 PM graveside service and burial officiated by Minister Randy Jumper. Jon Vili, Dakota Shagena, Luke Shagena, and James Bragg will serve as pallbearers.
