W.L. (“Dub”) McCorkle (July 21, 1937- September 10, 2026) passed quietly in his home in the presence of those he loved. A graduate of Tyner High School, Class of ‘55, he worked at Exxon for 29 years delivering fuel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann, as well as his father (Robert Steve McCorkle) and mother (Emma L. Bennet) and brothers (Edwin and Bennett) and sister (Sue) and is survived by his brother, David (Nancy), sister, (Patricia); daughter, Pamela (Clay) Cantrell; two grandchildren, Alex (Julia) Cantrell and Alysha (Russ) Mitchell; four great-grandchildren Jack Cantrell and Ily & Kyleo Mitchell and Chuck Hicks; as well as nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, September 14, at Harrison Cemetery.
