

Woodrow Gardenhire, age 92, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 19,2010. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late A. B. and Mary Gardenhire. Mr. Gardenhire graduated from Tyner High School in 1935 and he graduated from Mckenzie Business School. Mr. Gardenhire was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army in China. He retired as office manager of Selox, Incorporated. He was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and was the recipient of the “Lifetime Achievement” Award given by the church for his many years of dedicated service.
Survived by wife of 64 1/2 years, Goldie Gardenhire of Chattanooga; daughter, Brenda Hoskins; three grandchildren, Shannon (Kurt) Lancaster, Andrew (Carolyn) Hoskins and Karin Hoskins; five great grandchildren, Kalan Lancaster, Cora Lancaster, Caleb Lancaster, Jacob Hoskins-Ware and Holly Hoskins.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 P.M. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Home Chambliss Shelter, Hospice of Chattanooga, or to Silverdale Baptist Church.
