Beatrice Quinones, beloved, cherished, brave, compassionate, devoted, generous, faithful, hard-working, inspirational, honest, resilient, selfless, kind-hearted, and humorous, passed away on March 28, 2026, at the age of 95. Beatrice lived in Chicago, Illinois. After this introduction, Bea will be remembered with deep respect and enduring love by all who knew her.
Born on June 22, 1930, Bea carried with her a lifelong reverence for faith and family. One of her fondest childhood memories was her mother holding her hand and taking her to Mass when she was just four or five years old—a tender moment that remained close to her heart throughout her life. As a young girl, she also dreamed of becoming a singer and participated in the Glee Club, though she missed all performances because she was embarrassed.
Bea’s faith was not only personal, but also lived in service to others. She was a minister of communion at Mercy Catholic Hospital, offering comfort and spiritual care with the steady devotion that defined her life.
On July 30, 1950 Beatrice married Jesus Quinones. They were happily married for 40 years. She was the devoted mother of Christine (Ed) Varela, Linda Quinones, Juanita Quinones, Beatrice (Francisco) Garza, and Annette Quinones (Adolfo Bizarro). She was the cherished grandmother of Lisa Quinones, Francisco (Leah) Garza Jr., Jesse Garza, Beatrice (Erik Konieczka) Garza Jr., Juan (Nicky) Merced, Angela Varela Turton (Alexander Turton), and Joseph Varela. She was the beloved great-grandmother of Brianna Merced, Lennon Cordero, Emiliano Garza, and Leilani Garza.
In her personal life, Beatrice found joy in creating with her hands and expressing herself through craft. She enjoyed crochet and knitting, made jewelry, and loved to sew—generous talents she shared through the warmth of what she made and gave. She also delighted in entertainment that showed her spirited side, enjoying action movies like Rambo, Kung Fu, Columbo, Karate Kid, and boxing. Music was another lasting love, and she especially enjoyed mariachi music as well as the voices of Vicente Fernandez, Cuco Sanchez, Pedro Vargas, and Lola Beltran.

Beatrice's final words and wishes reflect the faith and sincerity with which she lived: “Let my last words be, "Jesus" His Name on my lips. A final goodbye be a reflection of all I have been and all I have loved. For those I have offended with all my sincerity, please forgive me.”
