Blanca I. Arroyo

Blanca I. Arroyo, 82, passed away surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife to Valentin Arroyo Jr. for 54 years; cherished mother of Jennifer (Stacy) Alonzo and Denice (Jon) Medina; beloved grandmother of Gianna, Isabella, Christian, Jonathan, and Nicholas; treasured sister of Natalia (Felipe) Marrero, Carmen Torres, Maria (Domingo) Rodriguez and Hector (Donna) Villarreal; beloved daughter of the late Evaristo Villarreal and the late Maria Villarreal; fond sister-in-law and aunt to many nieces and nephews; and a friend to many.

Blanca was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico. She lived there until the age of 16 before moving to Chicago, Illinois. She married the love of her life, Valentin, at the age of 28. She dedicated her life to her husband, two daughters; Jenny and Niso, and her five beautiful grandchildren. She wanted nothing but health and happiness for her family. She was known for her infectious laugh, her generous heart, and her passion for cooking. She expressed her love by cooking for others, pouring love into every meal she prepared. And through her food she made family and friends feel cherished, nurtured, and welcomed.

Blanca was a woman of deep and unwavering faith, a devoted Catholic whose life was grounded in prayer. Through every joy, challenge, and blessing, she turned to God with trust, gratitude, and humility. Her faith was not simply something she practice-it was the foundation upon which she built her life. Blanca found strength in prayer, comfort in the sacraments, and peace in God's presence. Her devotion was evident in the way she lived: with kindness, compassion, generosity, and love for others.

Visitation for Blanca will be on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM., to 8:00 PM., at Ridge Funeral Home, 6620 West Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60638.
