

Carol Chiarito (née Jastrzemski), age 83, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on June 25, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Carol was the cherished daughter of the late Patricia and Gus Jastrzemski. She was raised in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood, where she attended Byrne Elementary School and Kelly High School, forming lifelong friendships and deep roots in the community she loved.
Carol was the devoted and loving wife of Thomas Chiarito for over 63 years—a remarkable partnership built on love, commitment, and family. She was a proud and caring mother to Renee (Michael) Altobelli, Rachel (Tony) Falzone, and Thomas (Stephanie) Chiarito.
Nothing brought Carol more joy than her role as a grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her beloved grandchildren: Michael Altobelli, Isabella Altobelli, Nicholas Chiarito, Giovani Chiarito, and Jenna Falzone, all of whom brought immense pride and happiness to her life.
Carol had a true passion for cooking and baking, and her home was the heart of countless family gatherings. She lovingly hosted holidays and celebrations, creating traditions and memories that will be cherished for generations. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family defined her life and left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew her.
Visitation for Carol will be on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 3:00 PM. to 8:00 PM., at Ridge Funeral Home, 6620 West Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60638. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 9:30 AM. to 11:00 AM., with prayer service starting at 11:00 AM., at Ridge Funeral Home, 6620 West Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60638.
