Darlene Meitz

Darlene Meitz, born on September 18, 1936 passed away on January 9, 2026 at the age of 89. Darlene was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late John and Estelle (Jaisitis) Pechulis.

Darlene loved spending time with her family, watching Hallmark movies, and enjoying a sweet treat. On Saturday mornings, she would often be found with a cup of coffee and a donut getting her hair done by her sister in-law Camille. She enjoyed traveling to Disney World with her daughter Lisa and granddaughter Sarah, as well as shopping at Homegoods.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa (Pete) Czyszczon , stepdaughter Melanie (Dave) Czahor, and John (Maria) Pechulis; grandchildren Bridget Czahor and Sarah Czyszczon , and great grandchildren Aidan and Sean Czahor.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Mannfred Meitz, her sister Jeanette (Pechulis) Rizza, nieces Gina Rizza and Jody (Rizza) Grant, and nephew Ralphie Rizza; and granddaughter Erin Czahor.

Visitation for Darlene will be on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM., with Religious Ceremony starting at 12:00 PM., at Ridge Funeral Home, 6620 West Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60638.
