Francis "Paco" Calderon

have a memory or condolence to add?

September 26, 2018

My deepest condolences to the family of a wonderful "Brother in Blue". I was fortunate to know such a caring person like Paco, that did so much to help others. Our paths kept crossing in the past 25 yrs in the Police Dept and even in South Haven. I am so saddened for this loss, but know he is with God.

Dear Nancy, I'm think of you and your girls during this most difficult day. May you all find the strength you need to get thru this most difficult time period. Always remember that Paco is always watching over each of you and that love knows no boundaries. Wishing you each some form of comfort during this painful time.

My words fail to adequately express just how privileged I feel to call Paco my friend. He embraced life full throttle always charging through to get the job done whether it be serving and protecting his city, assisting those plagued by demons, or simply sharing tea time with his grandbabies . He was always "in" 200%......and he made you FEEL that. Paco's genuine, caring way always lifted my spirit, as did his mischievous humor. Thank you Nancy and family for sharing your big-hearted man with us. Please accept my deepest heartfelt sympathy with all my friendship and love.

Paco, dear cousin,
I knew you mainly when we were kids.
We did not stay in touch very often as we grew older and that was my loss.
The memories I have though are fond ones.
You could always make not just me but everyone laugh and that was a gift.
You were also one of the bravest guys I ever met, and my friends and I still talk about and brag about what a cool dude you were.
Not too many people know this but back in high school my brother Dave and I and a few friends went to a dance at Good Counsel when a fight broke out and my brother and I were about to get our young butts kicked. Well just like a guardian angel in walks Paco. He walks up to the biggest guy in the room, Gets in his face and says "You want to mess with my cousin you mess with me"
Well the big dude and his friends backed down. They knew he meant business.
Thank you Paco for saving my butt.
Thank you also for your dedication to helping the alcoholic and those with substance abuse.
With much love,
Your cousin Johnny

My deepest condolences to the family of man, taken to soon. I will always remember, and respect you for your dedication towards helping others. Your straightforward, yet caring approach, along with your sense of humor. Which will always remain an aspiration to myself, and the many others you have met throughout your life. May you rest in peace, knowing...That your spirit continues to live through those lives you have touched. And your passion for keeping the Guildhaus' legacy still beats within the hearts of the of all of us. While we may all mourn you loss now. We will forever celebrate the life you lived.

Paco Calderon, Immaculate Conception grammar school was never the same the day you blessed us with your presence and antics. I vividly remember your 1st day of school and the fact that you and I really hit it off. And we became close friends and remained dear friends to this day. Through thick and thin you've always had my back. Our respect & loving friendship never dwindled, in fact it grew stronger each year. Hope you will meet me at the pearly gates when I arrive. Condolences to your lovely wife, Nancy, your children and all those grand babies. Truly I love you, my dear friend, Paco. You'll be in my heart always. Luck of the Irish to you and your family. Even though you were at peace and we know your body is no longer in pain and tired, it still doesn't make this any easier. Like every card I gave you, you'll never know how much I love you and how thankful I was to have you in my life. This still doesn't seem real. Please give us your strength to get through tomorrow and the next day and so forth. I love you Dad.
