

Isaac Lefeu, age 83. Beloved husband of the late Mary. Loving father of James, Liz, Jacob, and Rebecca (Scott) Burke. Proud grandpa of Lydia, Scarlett, Leanne, and Luke. Dear brother of John, Joseph, Theo, Elia, Louis, Debbie, Neria, and Jairie. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Isaac was born on January 16, 1934 in Jacarda, Indonesia, to Paul and Agnes Lefeu. Being the first born of nine to a Pentecostal missionary, his childhood was one of adventure and responsibility. Having lived through World War II, he had childhood memories of climbing banana trees while seeing Japanese planes overtake the country. Later in life he also served in the Korean War with the United Nations Force with the Duetch Army. Around this time, his entire family set off to the Netherlands where most of his extended family still lives to this day. In the early 60s he set off on a great adventure to America. At this time he had a sponsor who helped him obtain employment at Stewart Warner as a machinist where he worked over 25 years. On November 24, 1977 he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Cadorette in Chicago and had four children. Isaac was a hard worker often times working 12 hours days at Citgo Petroleum to provide for his family on the southwest side of Chicago. Isaac was a John Wayne and Star Trek enthusiast and in his free time he was an active participant in the Knickerbocker Society of Chicago, a Dutch Culture Club, Soccer Leagues, and various church events. Isaac was a devout Christian who modeled his faith for his children. His entire life was about providing for his family and lead by example a Christ centered life. Funeral Tuesday lying-in-state from 10-11am with an 11am service at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church (5550 S. Merrimac). Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
