Janis, to us, was always this quiet treasure of a person to be discovered among all the competing, rather loud voices in our family.  She had this unique calmness to go along with her warm smile that made you feel accepted "as is." Her strength was her kindness and deep love for her family, especially the love of her life, her so hard working Jimmy.  For so many years, it was so natural to say and think "Jimmy and Janis" together--so young when they met as we all were then.  The union of their names like poetry. They have been a comforting role model over the years as how to hold on to each other through all the joys and challenges in life.  Janis was also so proud of her two sons, Jason and Justin, who reflect her heart in many ways.  Her heart was wide open for her daughter- in -law Betty, her sister-in- law Linda, and her brother- in- law Ken.  And she was so blessed with two grandsons, Alex and just recently Justin, Jr.   My mom June always singled her out as this caring, "can do" person who knew how to care about and for others, not just through words but also action.  We admired all the stories of how she took care of so many others at the end of their own journeys, including her own father and most recently, her mother- in- law  Gloria. I will miss her calling me "Kimmy."  There are no adequate words for her bravery at the end,  the precious time saying goodbye to her loved ones,  with only feelings and touches of love left. Although losing Janis is heartbreaking and unfairly too soon, may her memory shine the brightest in all the hearts touched by her.  May her special love for her family guide them through this difficult time.  And every autumn especially, we will imagine Janis dancing among the piles of colorful leaves, her spirit stronger than ever, reminding us to smile through our tears.

Rest in peace my dear sister in law. I was lucky to have known you and spent time with you all these years. You were one of the most sweetest loving and giving persons I have ever known . I will miss you so much and the times we spent together.
