It is with our great sadness we announce the death of Jose E. Aranda, 90 years of age, lived in Chicago, IL. & Grand Blanc, Michigan. Who passed away in his sleep of natural causes and did not suffer. He married Maria Refugio Valdez on 07/1964 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Chicago, IL.
Our father leaving behind his spouse Maria, had 3 sons, Jose E. Aranda Jr, Mario Aranda, Ricardo Aranda and their spouses, along with 15 grand kids and 3 siblings (two sisters & brother). He was born in Mexico, Guanajuato Rosario.
Completed grammar school in Mexico, completed his GED in Chicago, attended and received tool/die, machinist apprenticeship, various certifications, award recognitions from General Motors related to his loyalty & exceptional services over his 38+ years of employment where he held various positions within his level of expertise as a gold collar worker.
He attended College of DuPage & received his accreditation of Computer Numeric Control certifications. He was involved with Fanuc robotics tooling at the GM Cadillac Fabrication plant, continuous training provided within GM university in which he completed his tenor at GM Fisher body plant at Willow Springs, prior to plant closing, he was a loyal UAW union member and attended regular meetings. In addition, he worked in the past at Ford as a machinist and Zenith related part suppliers being at the pioneering age of radio frequencies & televisions during the early 50’s.
Jose was a charitable person, generous with money and made contributions to political campaigns to the city of Chicago an avid man with a passion for many things, such as machinist, creating tools, pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, medicine, invention for upholstery tools & machines, art & crafts, script lettering, EDM designs out of metals, sciences and much more. He constantly spent his free time in his workshop in his garage & downstairs basement doing what he loved most.
He was a very innovative man finding solutions to problems that no one would ever think possible. He was a father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, and a loving husband, he was so many things at once always providing for the ones he loved most and always putting family above his own wellbeing.
Even in his 80s he was still a very active man riding his bike, he would go to obtain groceries, parts for his car, bakery and other local stores. Still never forgetting to spend time with his grandkids as much as possible to educate them on machining, math & science achievements trying to instill the same values and principles into the next generation and future generations to come.
We like to thank the various chaplains, priests, family & friends, OSF healthcare specifically Little Company of Mary hospital, who supported our family during these difficult times. A favorite quote: "The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." – Mark Twain. Even though our father Jose Aranda wanted to live until 110 years old, he was still full of life and was always prepared in his soul to take that with him into the next life.
