not ours, that is, yours, peacefully

those of us left here, (earthbound)

no longer standing at your side

though, seemingly, parts of

my/ourselves go with you

Maybe, for me/us, sad times

and you… (now sky-bound, not here)

But way, way up in….

(hopefully, I’ll get there)

you can save a place

Meantime, let’s admire

Beautiful departed stargazers

that slipped away from us

we cried, remaining…

Lorraine Grunert, age 95 passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

Mom is survived by her children; Robert with his wife Robin and Nancy with her husband Patrick her grandchildren; Katherine, Kristen, and David and her great grandchildren; Emily and Tara as well as nieces and nephews who will miss her.

Visitation for Lorraine will be on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM., at Ridge Funeral Home, 6620 West Archer Ave, Chicago, IL 60638. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM., at St Rene Goupil Catholic Church (Two Holy Martyrs Parish), 6949 W 63rd Pl, Chicago, IL 60638.
