She joined her husband Felipe and settled in Chicago where she went on to have four more children, 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Luz loved flowers and worked as a florist in Chicago, while raising her children. She was a faithful Catholic, who was always surrounded by her saints and angels. Luz was strong, loving, sensitive, brave and so very creative. She hand made all the flower arrangements, center pieces, gifts, Christmas wreaths, for family weddings, baptisms and baby showers. She would stay up countless hours gluing, stitching, knitting and cutting ribbons. She also loved to knit and be creative. She knitted hats, gloves, scarfs, purses, and cellphone holders for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to dance and celebrate at family gatherings. She loved to cook and have a house full of her loud, crazy family. She loved so much just like her name. She was the light of our family and the roots to our family tree. She will be greatly missed, Luz Luna our “moon light.”
