Sandy was a kind and incredibly patient soul as she took care of all the Melvina kids for our entire adolescence. I will always be grateful that she opened her home to us. The world suffers when it loses a person like her, but she has earned her rest - and then some. Our thoughts are with her family. The memories keep her with us always.

Sandy, aka Mrs. H, was the kindest, sweetest person you could ever meet. She always went the extra mile to help so many people including family, friends, and people in-need in the community. She always went the extra mile to help feed all the needy individuals with the organization, The Hungry and Homeless. Mrs. H also guided and taught so may valuable lessons to the children of St. Camillus School. I will miss going "$hit shopping" with her and Karen!!! We always had so much fun at her garage sales and just visiting.
I can’t find the words to say how sorry I am, and how much Sandy will be missed…

I have so many warm memories of Mrs. Haddad and her welcoming family's home, from the warmth I felt the very first time stepping in the front door as a freshman in h.s., to the many sleepovers, to being invited to join delicious family dinners💗 (where quite honestly the love could actually be tasted in her food), to witnessing the incredible ways she was a mother to my best friend all through the years.
Mrs Haddad had a way with creating warmth, nourishment and safety, and even through challenges she brought acceptance, strength, generosity, and heartful presence.
I am so honored to have had glimpses into the life of this Beautiful Soul. The gift of her memory will live on in my heart. 🙏💗

I have so many sweet memories of Mrs. Haddad! From her coming to my baby shower with the handmade baby blanket that she was so proud of, to having lunch with her, Tracy and my boys at Navy Pier and her teasing my oldest about his nickname Bubba while eating at BubbaGumps. She never failed to send a beautiful Christmas card because she knew I love them. She showered love on her family, and on her children’s friends too. She was tiny and spunky and an inspiration in life! And she raised one of my very best friends. What a wonderful life to be celebrated! 💜💜

In loving memory of someone special. One whose smile would light up a room. A wife, a mother, a grandmother, a friend. An angel whom will not be forgotten. Memories made will forever live in our hearts. May your soul rest in peace and your spirit shine bright.

One of my favorite memories is when I was five years old and my Aunt Sandy and my mom chased me and my cousin, Karen, around my Aunt’s apartment because we had gotten in trouble. We hid under a bed to escape the fly swatter!
As an adult, I absolutely loved my time with my Aunt Sandy! Me and my mom and my Aunt Sandy (and when it worked out, Karen) would go thrift store shopping. We would meet first thing in the morning, shop until lunchtime, eat lunch at Archview, shop some more and then head back to my Aunt’s house to show each other all of our treasures. We’d go out for dinner or order in and spend the night telling stories about what had happened since we last saw each other. My Aunt Sandy had the best memory of things that happened when I was little. It was so fun to hear all the stories from when Karen and I were little.
I love my Aunt Sandy so much. She was a beautiful, generous, kind and unselfish woman. She will be very very missed. Love to Uncle Carmen, Karen, Tracy, Mark and Aunt Dolly. Our hearts our with you.
Love,
Mary

My Auntie Sandy came into my life when I was a little boy, and I will miss her dearly. She was always happy to see me and my family. As my boys grew up she never missed remembering them even for the smallest of holidays. I’ll never forget how she would make my boys so happy by dropping off a valentine or Halloween gift. Auntie Sandy will be missed by all.

Sandy was my "copilot" for many year! We really put her Boska to work!!!! 🛣 She had so many interests and we were able to visit shops, museums, zoos, antique stores, thrift stores and an occasional restaurant! 😉
Sandy made me laugh, cry and think ....
Sometimes all at the same time!
Knowing Sandy and Carmen made me a much better person. She was caring, generous, faithful, pragmatic, creative and loving and she shared all of those gifts freely. She truly made the world and her corner of it a more colorful, joyful place!
I will miss sharing our pew in church and coffee after and having her at the end of our block and the other end of the phone line.....whenever it worked😉
Sandy was an angel on earth and is surely one in heaven. 😇
Please know Mike and I are here for you guys and share your sorrow....but we also celebrate Sandy's life❣

I have so many memories of Auntie Sandy. She was really a great woman. She was always so thoughtful.... whether it was volunteering for the homeless or fostering animals, she was always doing things for others. I was fortunate enough to be at some her Christmas Eve gatherings and they are some of the best memories I have. Christmas dinner when we could never really quite get how to pass the Oplatki. How she always made sure everyone who was there had gifts to open. Not to mention the grab of random items and it's impossible not to forget the STAR PRESENT!!! She always had a way of making it so special. She always made everyone feel included. I will never forget how she would pass the time online watching eagles nest their eggs. Oh my gosh you made me laugh. May you rest in peace Aunt Sandy. Love you.

Please accept my deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers on the loss of such a kind and loving woman. I was honored to know her as we worked together for many years on the Hungry and Homeless Committee. She and Nancy made the best dinners! And together they were the top (and only!) sellers of our annual Deacon’s Angels ornaments. I’m sure God’s newest angel was welcomed with open arms. She will be missed.
