Santos E. Mendoza

Santos Ezequiel Mendoza, age 91 years, son of Juan and Trinidad Mendoza nee Toledo (deceased), was born November 1, 1927 in Chicago Illinois and passed away April 23, 2019 in San Antonio Texas. Santos went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad as a young man repairing train cars. His railroad career was put on hold when he was drafted into the United States Army. Santos served with honor and distinction during the Korean War in an artillery unit and spent over a year in harms way. He returned home and resumed his career as a railroad man where he earned his pension with over twenty years of service. Santos Mendoza married Lucia Mendoza nee Gutierrez (deceased) and together raised four children George Mendoza (deceased) Martha Portillo nee Mendoza, Victor Mendoza (deceased), and Alberto Mendoza. Santos is preceded in death by siblings Sammy Mendoza, Julia Loaiza nee Mendoza, Frank Mendoza, and Salvador Mendoza. Siblings Martha Sanchez nee Mendoza, Jesse Mendoza, John Mendoza, and Esteban Mendoza survive him. He was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
