Tristan Anthony Ochoa, a beacon of intelligence and an avid reader, was born on July 3rd, 1996 in Chicago, IL. He departed from this world on February 20th, 2024 at the tender age of 27. Tristan is survived by his loving parents Anthony and Sherry Ochoa, his twin sister Alexis Ochoa, maternal grandmother Irene Vollmer, as well as uncles, aunts and many cousins.
He is preceded by his paternal grandparents Alejandro Ochoa Sr. and Julia Ochoa, his uncles Alfredo Ochoa, Adrian Ochoa and Travis Vollmer.
From the moment he entered this world until his last breath, Tristan demonstrated a rare capacity not merely to exist but to observe, absorb and understand the complexities of the human condition. His love for reading allowed him to dive into conversations that ranged from the simple pleasures of novel recipes to the complexities of existential philosophy. He had a way of bringing new perspectives to light; often leaving others pondering his words long after their conversation had ended.
Pride could be seen in Tristan's eyes when he spoke about his work at The Duck Inn. Cooking was not just a job for him; it was a passion - a form of expression. His dedication to learning from his peers was testament to his belief in continual growth and love for culinary arts. "The kitchen is a dojo," he would say with conviction – embodying the belief that cooking could take him anywhere because "everyone’s gotta eat every day."
Apart from crafting flavors in the kitchen, Tristan had an insatiable appetite for discovery - especially when it came to music. His hobby of going to concerts and sharing music wasn't just pastime; it was a way of connecting with others - sharing pieces of himself through melodies and lyrics
with playlists that held deep meaning for him.
His legacy is not one defined by tangible achievements or accolades but rather by the indelible mark he left on our hearts. Tristan demonstrated what it means to live life in pursuit of passion, connectedness and genuine engagement with those around us.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude towards all who have shown support during this difficult time.
