He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years Jan. Daughter Shelley and her husband Michel. Their 3 kids Oliver (Emma), Emilie (Myles), and Soph. Son Kevin and his wife Michelle. Their three kids Joshua, Kayla and Brayden. Two great grandchildren Camille and Gabriel. His surviving siblings are his sister Traudie (Max), brother Waldy (Faye) and sister Irmy (Brant); brother in-law Jim and Val; sister in-laws Arlene (Archie) and Dorie (John). He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Jakob and Katerina. His oldest sister Adel and sister in-law Marion.
He retired as the senior judge for the BC racing commission. He and his wife traveled, played golf, pickleball, cards and the things done in retirement. The focus was always family.
