Irene Florence Greenlay

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, “Bubbles” Irene Florence Greenlay. Mom passed away peacefully April 29, 2026, at Chilliwack General Hospital, surrounded by “her boys” and family.

Bubbles was born in Calgary AB on Feb 22, 1937. The family moved to Vancouver BC when she was 6 yrs old. Bubbles married the love of her life, Reuben Greenlay in 1957 and together they had 3 boys. When they retired, they moved to St. Andrews BC, where they spent the best years, golfing and visiting with their many great friends. After Dad’s passing, Mom moved a few times, settling in Agassiz BC.

Mom loved to travel, always wanting to see new things. She especially loved chocolate, and in her last days, that was her first question, “did you bring me some chocolate?”

Mom and Dad had a very special love, and when Dad passed, mom found it difficult to live without him.

Bubbles is lovingly remembered by her 3 sons, Stephen (Gwen and her family), Michael (Deb), Alan (Charlene). Her 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Asia-Li, Apollo, Kelsey, Michel, Stephen, Kevin, and their families, which includes 8 great-grandchildren.

Bubbles asked to be laid to rest beside her forever love, Reuben. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
