Alfred grew up in Atlanta, Georgia where he joined the USMC and served his Country honorably. His bravery during WWII earned him a Purple Heart. He was a radio operator who ran multiple missions saving and helping anyone he could. Upon his honorable discharge from the USMC, Al stayed in San Diego to work in construction and start a family.
Al enjoyed fishing, traveling and most of all family gatherings.
Al Davis passed away on June 2nd, 2019 in the comfort of his home and surrounded by his family.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Leonor Davis; his daughters Louise Teal, America Py and Cristal Arredondo; his grandchildren, Dawn Stultz, Thomas Salgado, Christian Salgado, Narciso Arredondo, Cristal Arredondo, Ivan Arredondo, Audrey Py, and Allison Py; Great-Grandchildren, Leonel Villanueva, Isabella Olivarria, Marissa Arredondo, Emmanuel Arredondo, Tristan Py, Rowen McKenzie, Tomas Mckenzie; and his sister Coralee Porter.
A visitation & celebration of life service for Alfred will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910. A funeral prayer service will occur Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910. A committal service with military honors will occur Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA 92122.
