2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's at the age of 89. He goes to be
with his lovely wife Kay in heaven.
Nobby was born in Temple, Oklahoma on December 27th, 1927. At 16, he came
west to help with war effort trying to work at a shipyard in Oregon but was
turned down because of he was to young. He enlisted in the Navy on his 18th
birthday in 1945, later joining the Navy reserve. While stationed at NTC in
Point Loma he met his wife, Katherine (Kay) Shirley Bradberry. They were
married on December 11th, 1948. Nobby supported his family by working at
Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical Company where he worked his way up from sweeping
floors to Quality Control manager/engineer at the time he retired. He was
married to Kay for 47 years until her death in 1996.
He is survived by his two daughters Sydney and Leslie, his three
grandchildren Jay, Jeffrey and Jacob, and his 4 great grandchildren, AJ,
Jason, Kylee and Grayson.
Nobby was a man of few words, but his actions always showed who he was. He
was the kind of man that always had time for his family. He enjoyed long
drives in the mountains with his wife and daughters, gardening, animals, and
gold rush country in Placerville. He would often bring pets home for his
daughters, even on one occasion a pet monkey that wrecked havoc. He attended
countless tap dance recitals and was always there to help with homework.
After his daughter's had grown he turned his attention to his grandsons.
Whether it was catch in the backyard, building a treehouse for his grandsons
or simply just being there when we needed something. His devotion to family
was never more evident than his constant support for his grandkids and
great-grandkids. He never missed a sporting event, whether it was soccer,
baseball, basketball or anything else he was there win or lose, good game or
bad to offer his support, guidance and advice. He loved it and we loved him
for it.
Nobby was the kind of man that kept things simple, one of the last of the
greatest generation. Words don't do him justice. He will be forever loved
and cherished. He put the great in great grandfather. And there will never
be another like him.
Services will be at El Camino in Sorrento V Valley on Friday, June 23rd at
1pm.
Rest In Peace Dad!!!
Rest In Peace Grandad!!
