Mr. Calvin Peterson (Peter) was born September 6, 1956 in Broward County, Florida to the late Calvin Peterson Jr. and Delores Mayes Peterson.

Calvin attended South Broward High School where he played his favorite game, football. He graduated on June 3, 1974. He attended San Diego City College where he was able to play football at the college level and gain some college credits.

He worked alongside his father at C&C Welding before enlisting into the U.S. Navy on November 10, 1975. The U.S. Navy brought Calvin to San Diego, California. Before his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he received a National Defense Service Medal. In his civilian life, he worked as a Leadperson at the 32nd Street Navy Exchange. Calvin joined Coca-Cola as a Warehouseman/Order Builder/Loader/Forklift Operator in July 1985. Calvin proudly dedicated 31 years of hard work to the corporation. In 2018, he then transitioned to commercial driving through the Western Truck School where he successfully earned all available endorsements and Class A License. After receiving his commercial license, Calvin completed the needed 20 hours of Transit Driving at MTS. In August 2018, Calvin joined SP+ Transportation (Port of San Diego). He truly enjoyed the work he was doing which included meeting new people while shuttling them around the San Diego International Airport.

Calvin was introduced to Audrey Lynne Streets in 1980. They were united in matrimony on October 3, 1981. To this union two children were born, Calvin Donte and Marcus Donnell Peterson.

On Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2:24 a.m., Calvin was called to heaven. In his passing he leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife, Mrs. Audrey Lynne Peterson; two sons – Calvin Donte (Jennifer) and Marcus Donnell (Angela) Peterson; three granddaughters – Amara Victoria Peterson, Aliyah Lynn Peterson and Olivia Imani Peterson; one sister – Varissa Denise Peterson; and a host of other relatives and wonderful neighbors and friends.

Tribute Yes, God saw the road was getting rough, The hills were hard to climb; He gently closed those living eyes, And whispered, “Peace Be Thine”.

The weary hours, the days of pain, The sleepless nights are passed; The ever patient worn out frame, Has found “Sweet Peace At Last”.

Calvin you will be missed. I remember meeting Calvin and Lynn 36 yrs ago. I said to myself "this brotha is alright" . I remember that apartment in national city used to hangout and watch movies eat and laugh about life n world events. I watched him and his family grow and strive. Picking up wisdom and encouragement from many conversation. It made a lasting impression on me on what and how a man is suppose to be. Some memories going to the movies, going to the fair one year, just hanging out and talking.
Thank you God for his influence in my life when i was a very young man.
