September 28, 1948 – January 10, 2021
Chris Ancira was born on September 28, 1948, in Eagle Pass, TX, to Francisco and Guadalupe Ancira. She passed away on January 10, 2021. Chris lived in Watsonville, CA, for 53 years, then relocated to Chula Vista, CA, in 2010 until her passing. She worked in the health profession for over 20 years. Chris was a dedicated mother first and foremost. Above all else, she treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Mommy Tina. Chris had a warm and affectionate personality and always made people around her feel at ease and welcomed. Chris loved baking and cooking for all of her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren; one of her specialties was her world-famous scrambled eggs. Whenever she had a chance, she would face time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoying every minute of those precious moments. One of her favorite past times was getting together with her family and playing Loteria late into the evening; nothing but good times and great memories followed these games. Aside from being devoted to her family, Chris was an avid sports fan. She would be on the edge of her seat watching, living on every call, especially when it involved the San Francisco Giants, Green Bay Packers, or the Golden State Warriors. She would enjoy these occasions with a cup of coffee accompanying her while she cheered her teams to victory. Chris was blessed to have a loving and caring soul and would illustrate these traits on a daily basis with the love and affection she displayed to those around her. Her smile and presence were always a welcomed sight; she had the ability to make everyone she talked to seem like they were the most important person in the world. She was the type of person that wouldn’t shy away from giving those in need a helping hand; if someone needed help, she would be there, no questions asked. She is the loving & devoted mother of Veronica Moreno of Watsonville, Peter (Veronica) Moreno of Watsonville, and Melanie (Ralph) Zamora of Chula Vista. A sister to Hilda (Jesus) Mendoza of Castroville, Tx., Joseph (Socorro) Ancira of Watsonville, and Maria Victoria Lira of Chula Vista. A Grandmother to 11 Grandchildren, Great-Grandmother to 3 great-grandchildren, and an adoring aunt and Godmother to various nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Francisco Ancira Sr. in 1997, her mother Guadalupe Ancira in 2004, and her brothers Mario Enrique Ancira, Francisco Ancira Jr., and Alfonso Angel Ancira.
