Coleta Loyola Lucero was born in Tacloban, Leyte, Philippines on October 12, 1934. She married Francisco Lucero in Guiuan, Samar in 1952, traveling with him when he joined the US Navy in 1953 to Cavite City, then Guam, and on to San Diego in 1964. She lived a full life, raising four children, working as a nurse at Grossmont hospital, singing with the Santo Niño Choir at the Church of the Most Precious Blood in Chula Vista, and organizing countless weddings, memorial services, and special events in the Filipino Community. Her vivacious personality, fun loving spirit, openness and willingness to help everyone, and her skills at working with people make her a truly cherished individual by all her family and friends.
Her children are Ayda Lucero Fleck, Oakland, Frank Lucero, El Cajon, Sam Lucero, Chula Vista, and Joe Lucero, Palm Springs.
Her grandchildren are Brooks Larsen and Ryan Fleck, Los Angeles, Anna Mae Lucero, El Cajon and Illya Lucero, Chula Vista, CA.
