Concepcion Maybituin Minas

It is with great sadness that the family of Concepcion Minas, age 68, announces that she has joined our Creator on January 13, 2021. She was surrounded by family in San Diego, CA, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer.

Concepcion, or as many of her loved ones referred to her as Connie, was born on December 08, 1952 in Manila, Philippines to Gregorio Mapa Maybituin and Rosa Gabriel Maybituin. Connie grew up in the Philippines, alongside her beloved sisters: Adelaida, Emma and Leila. Connie graduated from Malate Catholic School (elementary and high school) and University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition (BSFN). She immigrated to the United States in 1981 and eventually settled in San Diego, CA.

Connie was a proud worker for the County of San Diego for almost 27 years.

Connie was known for her bright smile and contagious laughter. She loved gardening, traveling, seeing new places and cooking and eating food.

Connie was a generous woman and loved helping family and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand. Lastly, Connie will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend and a courageous fighter until the very end.

Connie is survived by her children: Cheryl Minas and Marvin Minas; sisters: Adelaida Maybituin, Emma Marco and Leila Mercado; nephews: Carlo Giovanni Marco and Raymond Patrick Marco; niece: Isabel Rosa Marco-Serrano; grandchildren: Coleen Beatrice Marco, Justine Chloe Marco, Christia Angela Marco and Nicole Jasmine Marco; and other loving family members across the United States, in the Philippines and other countries.

On Friday, February 5, 2021, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, a viewing will be held at Funeraria del Angel Humphrey 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910.

On Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 1:00pm, a funeral mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church 2643 Homedale Street, San Diego, CA 92139.

At 2:30pm, Connie will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, CA 92102.
