Dorothy was a native San Diegan, and lived most of her life in Mission Hills. She attended Grant Elementary, graduated San Diego High School, and attended San Diego State College. She and her husband, Duane, loved to travel and they visited many countries around the world. She also enjoyed working in her garden, exercising and volunteering at Mercy Hospital in the Cardiology Department. She is preceded in death by Duane, her husband of more than 30 years and survived by her twins, Cynthia (Chaffin) Butler and Lloyd Chaffin, and two granddaughters, Hally and Nikki. Dorothy always had a smile and kind word for everyone. She cared deeply about her family and friends, loved life, and lived every moment to the fullest. Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at 320 Date St. in San Diego on April 20 at 1 pm.
