Erwin Acosta Santos, 62, was born on January 6, 1964, in Hawaii, and passed away on August 21, 2026. He resided in Chula Vista, California. Erwin will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew him—beloved for the warmth he brought to others and for the gentle humor that could brighten even ordinary moments.
Erwin graduated from Montgomery High School, a milestone that marked the beginning of a life shaped by steady determination and a sincere appreciation for the people and pursuits that mattered most to him.
A true enthusiast at heart, Erwin found joy in horse racing. In that interest, many saw the spark of his personality—his ability to enjoy life fully, to share a laugh, and to make time spent together feel lighter and more memorable.
Erwin is survived by his brother, Melvin (Mel) Santos (Lelanie).
A Celebration of Life will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Chula Vista, Rose Chapel, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910, US, on October 2, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Vigil Service will also be held at Funeraria Del Angel Chula Vista, Rose Chapel, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA, on October 2, 2026, beginning at 6:00 pm.
Erwin will be laid to rest at La Vista Memorial Park in National City.
