

Gordon was born on February 11, 1947, in Ogdon, Utah. He graduated from Weber High School, also in Ogdon. He enlisted and served in the US Army on October 4, 1967. He maintained and flew as a crew chief on the UH-1 Iroquois “Huey” helicopter while he was stationed in Vietnam. After a year in Vietnam, he was transferred to Germany for 2 years, was honorably discharged on May 6, 1969. He then moved to San Diego, California.
He finished 2 years of college at Grossmont and San Diego Mesa Colleges, studying industrial technology.
He met and married the love of his life, Joyce Sweet on September 27, 1996, and they had their wedding on November 2, 1996, at a church in Buenos Aires outside of Tijuana, Mexico. They were part of an outreach church Bible Study and would go across the border several times a week to pick up people who wanted to attend.
Gordon had a brilliant engineering/mechanical mind and held jobs at Solar Turbines and Rohr in San Diego. He was a dreamer, a creator and an entrepreneur. He owned several businesses: Exotic Lighting, StoneCraft Gifts, and SalonPro Hair Extension Supplies, as well as creating exquisitely beautiful works of art in wood (vases, bowls, urns, canes, bottles, boxes and more) at his home workshop.
His hobbies were sky diving, scuba diving, fishing, hunting, and working in his wood shop on his lathe.
Gordon had a deep relationship with the Lord and he and his wife Joyce would often pray and intercede together.
Gordon is survived by his wife Joyce and their 2 dogs, Frodo and Zoe. A Celebration of life for Gordon will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 1 PM at the Living Word Community Church, 950 Garland Drive, San Diego, CA 92154.
