James Earl Dunwoody "Woody"of San Diego passed away peacefully in his home with his loving family by his side on Monday, April 7th at the age of 88 years old. He leaves behind his loving wife Suzanne, son Dana and daughter Lisa. Woody was born on July 23, 1925 in Hemet, California to Sam & Alpha Dunwoody. As a very young man Woody join the military with his brothers to fight for his country. He enlisted in the Army Air core on Feb. 28, 1941 to October 10, 1945. He fought in WWI as a Tial Gunner in a B-24. After being Honorable discharge from the military Woody went to college to get his teaching degree.While in college he meet his wife Suzanne Getz. They were married and remain married for over 57 wonderful years. After college Woody became a middle school teacher and taught for over 30 years in the Lemon Grove School District. After retiring Woody loved spending time with his family. Woody will alway be remember as a loving husband, father, grandfather and a good friend.
