Janet was born May 10, 1935 in Mishawaka, Indiana, and moved to Vista, California with parents Bill and Betty Brownell in the 60's. Janet received her BA Degree in Literature from Indiana State University.
Janet married Paul Raviart in 1971, when she was a Secretary at UCSD. Later Janet worked as Executive Secretary to the Director at San Diego County Water Authority. After 15 years of service she retired in 1985.
In retirement, Paul and Janet spent many years traveling across the United Stated in their RV, until Paul's death in 2014.
Janet is survived by Stepdaughter Sandra Raviart Tamanaha, Granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Tamanaha and Nephew Kenneth Duzyk.
