Jennie remained a resident of San Diego her whole life. She grew up and established her adult home in the same Logan Heights neighborhood. She attended the local schools and worshiped at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she was baptized and later married first husband, Jesus M. Camacho. She was married to Jesus M. Camacho for twenty years raising three children. Later she remarried and divorced.
Jennie was employed by the San Diego Unified School District as a Food Service Worker. She retired in 1995 after 27 years, stating she was tired of feeding so many kids every day. A familiar statement she made to her children, often exaggerating the number of students at the school. Jennie worked many years at Balboa Elementary and ended her career at Gompers Junior High School.
She was loved by her son, Jesus Camacho, Jr. and daughter-in-law Yolanda Camacho, and two daughters, Sandra Camacho and Monica Magale, all of San Diego.
She enjoyed the company of her 9 grandchildren and was overwhelmed with joy when she was around her 9 great grandchildren.
Jennie lived to see 4 generations on her family tree and now that she is home with God, she will see more family generations to come.
She will be greatly missed by those who loved her, but we also realize that she has now been reunited with her mother, and her brothers and sisters. The Castillo family is once again, together.
Your are cordially invited to the Rosary recital on Monday, December 17th, at 7 p.m. in the Rose Chapel.
