John "Jack" E. Opdenaker, 68 years old, of Chula Vista, passed away suddenly on July 18, 2016. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 2, 1948. He was the third born child to Peter and Margaret Opdenaker.
Jack graduated from Frankford High School and received a Bachelors Degree. He married his junior high school sweetheart, Joyce Stephens, on April 12, 1969. They were blessed with 47 years of marriage and two sons.
Jack had a long career working as a Fireman and Emergency Medical Technician for Nassco. In his leisure time he enjoyed camping and trying his luck in Las Vegas. His genuine and kind nature will be missed by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his spouse, Joyce Opdenaker, his sons; Richard Opdenaker and Kevin Opdenaker Sr. His legacy includes two grandsons; Kevin Opdenaker Jr.and Johnny Opdenaker. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, William Opdenaker.
Jack's service in the U.S. Air Force will honored with a committal service and inurnment at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California.
