She was a devoted wife and mom, cherished Anma and loyal friend. She spent her life caring for others with compassion, steadiness and a generous heart. Josefina dedicated her life to her family, touching countless lives with her kindness and unwavering commitment to her friends and extended family.
Born on October 17th, 1932, Josefina made her home in Chula Vista for over 60 years, becoming a quiet but steady part of the community she loved. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought light and laughter into her days.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Juvenal, and her parents, Juan and Iluminada Hallare. Josefina is survived by her children, Emilie, Iluminada, John, Kathrine, Michael, Candy, and Cissy. She was a loving Anma to grandchildren Lisa, Brian, Brianne, Anthony, Allison, Jessica, Sarah, Victoria, Joshua, Charles, Fox, Kiki, and Krista; great-grandchildren Sophia, Isla, Soleil, and Siena; and great-great-grandchild Adrian, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her brother, Nicholas Hallare and numerous nieces and nephews, who shared in her life, her memories, and her enduring love for family.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Chula Vista, Serenidad Chapel, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910, US, on September 22, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be prayed at Funeraria Del Angel Chula Vista, Serenity Chapel, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910, on September 22, 2026, beginning at 6:30 pm.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Chapel, 4470 Hilltop Dr, San Diego, California 92123, on September 23, 2026, at 11:00 am. Josefina’s Final Resting Place will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, California 99102, on September 23, 2026, at 12:30 pm. There will be a reception following the service.
