

Kennedy graduated from San Beda College and received an Associates degree in Arts. He married Juliet Taduran Federis on October 1, 1960. They were blessed with a 57 year marriage and two children; Alvin and Anabelle.
Kennedy had a 20 year career with the U.S. Navy as a Storekeeper, first class. After his retirement he worked in civil service as a Wood Worker for another 20 years. While serving in active duty in the Navy he was assigned to various ships and naval stations such as the USS McCain, USS Philips, USS Sunnadin, and the USS Truxton. Duty Stations included Treasure Island Naval Station San Francisco, California, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Subic Bay, Philippines during the Vietnam War. His last duty station prior to retirement was San Diego Naval Station. Once retired, he wasted no time to return back to school. Using his VA benefits he enrolled at Southwestern College and San Diego City College where he earned credits to obtain an Associates degree in Arts, majoring in Supervision.
Kennedy was an active member of several civil organizations such as the Nabuenos of Southern California, Batoenos of Southern California, Bicol Clubs of San Diego County, The Bicolanos and the Fraternal Order of Masons.
Kennedy was a very social person who enjoyed parties and gatherings with his club members. Every Sunday he looked forward to meeting with his fellow retirees which he called his "McDonald's buddies". They would meet up at a McDonald's restaurant where they shared jokes, told stories and laughed to no end. Some of his hobbies and interests included gardening ( cultivating different species of lemon trees) and collecting baseball caps. He enjoyed fine wines and traveling via cruise ships where he would indulge his foodie cravings.
Kennedy is survived by his loving wife; Juliet, his daughter Anabelle Federis-Linkous; his son Alvin Taduran Federis, daughter in law Brenda Federis, grandson Matthew Federis and brother Edwin Federis. In addition, his legacy will be carried on by his large extended family members of loving nephews, nieces and cousins.
A celebrations of life and visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910 on Monday, October 23, 2017 starting at 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Catholic Church, 990 Saturn Blvd. San Diego, CA 92154 on Monday, October 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to his final resting place will follow the mass at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA 92122 at 12:30 p.m. Military Honors will be performed under the Auspices of the United States Navy.
