since your unexpected departure, this is the photo I've looked at the most and it's making me cry right now again... it's the very last photo of us... this was when we saw live each other for the last time and we were hugging us so hard a minute later, before I needed to go to the airport... if I had known that this would be the last moment to hug and kiss you in a brotherly way - I wouldn't have let go of you anymore... it hurts so much that you are now gone forever, kev... I have to say what I have told you over and over again and now I say it again with all my heart: THANKS FOR EXISTING - I will MISS & LOVE you forever and ever ! ! !

this is one of my absolute favorite photos of the two of us, kev.... as happy as we both look.. it was the moment when you met me again in the south of vietnam, after your two week adventure in japan,  and I cruised to the hostel on your bike... I also always found it really nice to be on a bike together and I was always really happy that you let me ride it as a matter of course... <3

maybe the word mountain is an exaggeration, but what incredibly cool climbs we did up small mountains, viewpoints or temples... mostly arr9ived up there completely soaking wet but having then at the top there  this epic view and of course the obligatory selfie... this one in which you are gleaming in the sun here and knowing that you are up there now makes this photo very special....

pretty much the same, but with rain..... alll this rain we needed to drive through.... hate & love in one moment... but what did I always said, kev: "DON'T PRETEND TOO MUCH - MOST OF IT FALLS BEYOND YOU!!!"

one of those magical photos of us in the epic north of vietnam... these winding mountain roads, this unreal sorunding and this views while driving... I have pure goosebumps just typing and remembering this roads and settings...

there it is... actually my typical pose, the one I have done on countless of these epic moment photos and which you then adopted and even after our time in asia I was always seeing you doing it on random facebook pictures you posted... asked about it, you simply replied with "I LEARNED FROM THE BEST"... what an accolade that was for me, kev!

another tradition was your morning stretching exercises to get your damaged marine back somewhat fit... how incredibly flexible your body was remains a mystery to me. hahaaa

there were always these moments too... the moments when you were just for yourself, were able to block out everything around you for a moment or were able to take it all in and just be with yourself and your inner energy... this deep kev' moments - also part of this big adventure, for sure!

whether like here during our big angkor wat tour, or after a visit to the temple, at lunchtime shortly after the noodle soup - a short nap was always in order and it was amazing seeing how fast you were able to come down and after waking up, being full of energy again - even if was just a 10 min nap...

I always had the need to do something, to talk to new, great people and all the time, without being able to relax, I just wanted to do something and experience something... and you always needed your me-time, where you then passionately watched netflix, youtube or whatever you watched... comfortably tucked away in a hostel bed or like here on the night train from bangkok up to chiang mai... everyone what they need and what they like!

during our wonderful first time in hanoi - with our freind the old bus driver bob, who you met in the plane, we were able to enjoy this delicious vietnamese egg coffee and generally enjoyed this great city with all its history and this great hostel from which we didn't want to leave...

another big and nice thing in asia were all the epic human children we met and with whom we shared sooo much epic moments... here a nice group shot from a deep talk night in siem riap @ lub'd.

that wild crazy first evening in siem riap after your monk meditation retreat and your time with violeta and camaron.. you made your way on to cambodia to welcome me back after my 4 magical weeks in laos. this epic time we then had again there and this one special wild night in pnom peng... ;)

arrived in chiang mai. first day in the new, super special family hostel and the birth of our big asian LOVE CREW, which was so magical and so many of whom we kept in touch with even after our asian time.... camaron, violeta, bobby, jane & marlin.... awwww... what an epic family time!

first trip. bangkok. freshly met. together with our uk mate and chinese google translate friend, at one of our lovely lunches, of which we had sooo many... this super tasty fish that you had to eat with your hand and my "spice ball adventure" after going to the toilet. hahaaa

before we bought the bikes in hanoi, we did the big ha giang loop.... 5 days with light luggage, through the epic mountain region in the north of vietnam, all the way to the chinese border... this nature, the traditional people, our two north irish friends and all the adverse circumstances we had there of course, with these awesome semi-automatic bikes.... for me and for you one of the most beautiful rides ever!

despite or because of your deep experience as a marine, it was very special for me to see and especially for you to wear your marine shirt ehile driving through vietnam... and the deep conversations we had as you told me all that you experienced as a marine - I will never forget that and pay you maximum respect forever!

the last picture before our big adventure starts from hanoi all the way down to saigon... will never forget this epic and wild time riding with you.... would do it straight again!

how often we had the moment in vietnam that we had to take an involuntary break at one of the fortunately at every corner available rustic mechanics... me more often than you, but you also had your moments... "flo waaaait... my whole leg is full of gasoline...."

Me and Kevin was together for about 2 years. All his care and love It's really  made my day everyday. We had shared lots of special moments together. It's really hard to believe that's you're gone. My family also love you and always talked about you specially my Mother. He teach me many things with patience (he talked fast). I'm happy and never regret to share a part of my life with you. I will follow you up one day. Always love you ❤️

Kevin was a great friend and Marine to serve with. Very selfless person willing to take on any job assigned. Great mentor had the respect of those around him. He will be missed by all to say the least. Heaven gained a great Angel. RIP Devil Dog. Proud to have served with you and call you my friend. 3rd Anglico OIF 1.

Not so long ago, this past March we were laughing, catching up with each other, laughing, and enjoying each other's company. You will always be my brother. I will miss you, brother. But I'll see you again. Till Valhalla.  Wild Eagle/4th BGDE for life.

Kevin  loved to travel.
He seemed happy and at ease while on an uncomfortable tuk tuk in Thailand.
