Family and friends, it is my honor as a fellow shipmate to pay tribute to the service of HM1 Imperial, USN to the United States of America. In addition, her service is honored to the community, her church and to her family. We stand together this day in support of each other, as we did so many years ago in a time when sacrifice and duty to our country were all we knew. We were young women together of a time long gone by. She was a true American patriot, one who answered her nation's call for help when it was needed, as so many hundreds had done before. In the case of my Shipmate PO Imperial, she went to sea in the ships that were to save the world for Democracy. She took her oath of service as we all did, to defend and protect our country. She did this in both times of war and peace. She served this Nation because it needed her. This was her reward, knowing she was needed.

And it came to pass on a certain day that he went into a little ship with his disciples, and he said to them. Let us go over to the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. And when they were sailing, he slept, and there came down a storm of wind upon the lake, and they were filled with fear and danger.           THE PILOT'S PSALM

The Lord is my Pilot, I shall not drift. He guides me across the dark waters. He steers me in deep channels. He keeps my log. He pilots me by the star of holiness for His name's sake. Yea, though I sail 'mid the fenders and tempests of life I shall dread no danger for He is near me. His love and care shelter me. He prepares a harbor before me in the homeland of eternity. He anoints the waves with oil, my ship rides calmly. Surely sunlight and starlight shall favor me on my voyages and I will rest in the Port of our Lord forever.

Loida, I am very saddened by your passing but I know that you are not in pain any longer. Our friendship wasn't based on quantity but quality. It was such a great honor to served with you. You made our mission in Iraq easier to handle with your optimism. You always gave me answers and opinions I needed to hear. You always made me laugh especially when I was stressed out with whatever we needed to accomplish. You always reminded me to be strong and confident in front of our junior Sailors. I remember when I asked you to facilitate training for the out-going Marines. You didn't want to at first because you hated being in front of people. But the strong person that you are, you stood in front of those Marines and conducted yourself professionally. I still remember wearing a big smile as I stood beside you. I remember when you opened that can of sardines and heated it in the microwave. You made the whole BAS smell fishy.  I will cherish those special moments we spent together. I will miss you dearly my shipmate, my friend, and my sister. Rest easy Loida!

A Blessing to your Navy Family, you will be missed.  Lifting up your boys into God's healing care.

Your heartwarming smile and humility will be truly missed. You with your family are thought of in the most sincere way possible. My deepest sympathy to your family for their loss.

Loida Maten Imperial a very dignified  woman who have served our country  through her services with the United States Navy, a loving mom to her two sons who lost their dad at their early age, a very caring sister to all her siblings , cool cousin and above all  one of my best students who always have that smile on her face and excels in her class  in  Manila Central University will surely be remembered by everyone .
