Lois Lovelady Farley was born March 23, 1922. She was the 8th child of 9 children born to William Harrison Lovelady and Mahala Munn Lovelady. Life began for Lois in a small town in Texas, but it was not long before the family headed west to California. The Lovelady clan spent years in Brawley, Riverside, Pasadena, and finally Tulare California. Lois grew up with a dynamic and loving family. Four brothers and four sisters in addition to Lois instilled in her a love and priority for family. Lois was introduced to Thomas K. Farley by her sister Virginia and her husband Dan Walker and were later married in August of 1944. Tom and Lois had a happy life together in Southern California where they raised their four boys Timothy, Daniel, David and John. Lois, a life-long Methodist, supported Tom in his ministry as a United Methodist Minister, and worked in the church as a Sunday School teacher, Certified Lab School Teacher and constant volunteer. Lois’s greatest love was her family. She was a loving wife, of nurturing mother, and the best grandma ever. Her creativity, sense of humor, positive spirit, loving nature and constant drive made her a person loved, valued and respected by all. Lois had a spirit about her that endeared her to all who knew her. She was a “can do” person always ready to give support and encouragement to those who needed it. She often said to those in need of a lift; “Do the best you can, and leave the rest to Superman”. This “Superwoman” received the eternal rest she had earned Saturday August 23, 2014. We love you Mom,… Grandma…no one did it better. Lois was predeceased by her husband Tom, and son Daniel. She is survived by her sons Timothy, David and John, their spouses, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
