On May 18th, 2018, Lydia A. Pimentel, 94, of Imperial Beach, passed away. She was born in Torreón, México on October 4th, 1923. Lydia married Roberto Pimentel on October 28, 1938. Years later Roberto and Lydia, along with their young children moved to Imperial Beach, California. It was in Imperial Beach, where they began their lives as business owners.
Lydia was owner of a well-known restaurant and dance hall, Lydia’s Café for over 55 years. Lydia’s interests included her caring and providing for her family, cooking, planting, listening to music, and working. She was known for her kindness and beauty both inside and out. She was a very giving person and did anything she could to help others.
This amazing woman was mother to 6 children; Rosa, Lydia, Roberto, Armando, Manuel, and Elizabeth (Lisa) Pimentel. As the heart of her family, she lived to see five generations of her family. She is survived by her 5 children, 26 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and 33 great-great grandchildren. What a blessing she was to all her family. She will be loved, and missed, but will always remain present in our memories and in our hearts forever, our Mom and Nana Lydia.
