

She was born in the Philippines on July 1, 1953. Gladys was an alumni of Rosario Institute. She received her associates degree in secretarial from San Sebastián College Recoletos and took Bachelors of Social Work from The Philippine Women's University. She was a teacher. She was married to Florante Ricafrente, her high school sweetheart. Gladys was an active member of the Salinas Association of San Diego, California.
Gladys is survived by Florante, her husband of 39 years, daughter Dee Stahl and spouse Jason of Glasgow, Kentucky, daughter Fay Luna and spouse Eugene of the Philippines and a son, Floyd Ricafrente and partner Gulya of Guangzhou, China. Her legacy includes her grandchildren, Jo, Julie, Eunelle, Jadie, Euan and Pyotr. Brothers Paul, Aurel, Peter, Gerry and Richard. Sisters Susan, Nenita, Marivic and Nhel also survived. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Floradel, a brother, Hermie, sisters Carol and Melissa and her parents, Alfredo and Natividad Conde.
Gladys had a passion for gardening, she had a green thumb like no other. She was also an avid reader. Gladys was also a very generous soul. She was known to "give her all to help others in need". Gladys demonstrated her caring nature by cooking for her friends and family; she immensely enjoyed their company and loved them all. She loved to travel as much as she could. But what drove Gladys the most is her utmost love and devotion to her children and grandchildren. There was never a day that she never thought of them. Often telling people how proud she was of her grandchildren, how talented and beautiful they are. Gladys will be missed by many, friends, family and coworkers. She loved them all unconditionally and irrevocably.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in her honor at St. Michael Catholic Church, 2643 Homedale, San Diego, California, 92139 on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. A celebration of her life and visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California, 91910 on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m with a vigil service at 6 p.m with Father Bernard Ranoa.
