

Margaret Marie Strange, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully made her transition on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
Born on August 1, 1941, in Conway, South Carolina, Margaret lived a life defined by love, devotion to family, kindness, and service to others. She was the cherished daughter of Marjorie Reese Majette Parker and Gilbert Parker, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also the loving widow of Harvey Strange.
Margaret leaves behind a family who loved her dearly, including her devoted son, Steve Parker; her beloved granddaughter, Sherié Parker; her grandson, Steven Parker; her brother, Charles Grossman; her beloved aunt, Gradie Bell Hills; and her uncle, Leroy Majette. She is also survived by a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends whose lives were enriched by her warmth and generosity.
For 25 years, Margaret faithfully served the students, families, and staff of Lauderbach Elementary School as Noon Duty Supervisor. She became a familiar and reassuring presence to generations of children, offering a watchful eye, a caring heart, and a welcoming smile. She was deeply respected and loved throughout the school community, and her impact will be remembered for years to come.
Margaret found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved butterflies, treasured time with her family and friends, and especially enjoyed cooking for others during the holidays. Her home was a place of warmth, love, and hospitality, where family and friends always felt welcome.
Those who knew Margaret will remember her strength, her quiet grace, her unwavering love for her family, and her natural ability to make others feel cared for. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and kindness that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
